07/08/2011 After the success of last years run, we look forward to another day of our Podiatry antics at the 2011 City to Bay fun run on the 18th of September. With just over a month to go "Superfoot" has begun his training and shares with us a few tips on preparing for the day.
- Start your training early. This will give your body more time to prepare for the distance.
- Buy and test your running shoes in advance. After all, 12km is a long run in the wrong shoes.
- Trial your blister preparations in advance and work to prevent them where possible.
- Dont over do it. Train slowly and dont push your self too far over your own limit or you may end up with an overuse injury such as Achilles tendinitis.
We are pround to announce that Anna Morgan will be doing the key note speech on behalf of Podantics Podiatry at the Allied Health Network on Tuesday night and encourages others to come along. "Tendonitis vs Tendonosis; diagnosis, treatment, and rehab" Glam Adelaide likes it & is helping us promote it!
Today we walked with Novita in their annual "Walk with Me" challenge at the Adelaide Botanic Gardens. Pictured is our Head Podiatrist, Anna Morgan (Left) with Novita Ambassador and Inspirational Speaker, Michele Colmer (right). Michele has been unrelenting in her quest to rebuild her entire life following a tragic accident and her story leaves a footprint that is both rich and authentic. Along with PERSISTENCE Michele reminds us that life needs to be lived and enjoyed! Michele is a close friend and a familiar face to the Podantics team and were honored to have walked with her today.
We love our sports, and running is no exception! As you can imagine, foot problems are incredibly common amongst runners, so, to do our part, Podantics will be helping out at the 2010 Sunday Mail Fun City-Bay Fun Run this September. We look forward to a great day of fun filled adventure and look forward to assisting the runners as they arrive at the finish line. We will be working at the SAFM tent along side the fabulous girls from Bodyline Health, so if your in the area, come down and say hi!
