COVID-19 Policy

Covid-19 Coronavirus Policy

Please be assured that our clinics remain open. We know that things are changing across Australia, but our clinic will remain open and essential appointments will continue at this time, even as other restrictions to different services may be introduced.

The APODA can confirm that Podiatry are not required to stop practicing as a part of the services shut down announced by the Australian government. We will provide updates as required.
  Dear Patients,

As an essential service it is imperative we step up during these uncertain times, too keep us all safe.  Protecting the health of our patients, family and community is the top of our list.

We will be offering telehealth and home care services to those in self isolation at this time, please see below for more details.

We thank you all in advance in these trying times. Take care of yourselves and each other.

Anna Morgan
Senior Podiatrist.

For all in clinic appointments:

Effective immediately we have taken the following steps to limit the spread of Covid-19 (coronavirus):
  • Alcohol hand gel is available at reception along with disinfectant wipes for doors and chairs.
  • Waiting room traffic will be reduced by blocking off extra time around those deemed to be vunerable , taking clients into podiatry treatment rooms early, where possible, encouraging people to be on time and wait in their cars as needed.
  • A 1.5m gap around reception desk has been marked out and reception will be wearing masks and gloves as needed, particularly if required to assist the elderly or those in need.
  • Waiting rooms chairs have been spaced out at 1.5m between clients.
  • Podiatrist will operate out of 2 clinic rooms when possible, to allow for increased infection control and air quality assistance between clients.
  • Doors to the clinic will remain open when possible (weather permitting) to reduce hand contact with front doors and assist with air flow.
  • We also ask that all clients that intend to pop into the clinic without an appointment, call in advance so we can plan accordingly.

On the day of your appointment
  • We ask that you stay on time, if late we may be unable to see you.
  • If early we ask that you remain in your car until no more than 5 minutes before your consult. Where possible people who arrive early will be taken into a separate waiting room to assist with social isolation. If you prefer you can stay in your car until we are ready by phoning us when you arrive.
  • If you have been in contact with someone who has been infected or who may have been infected please let us know before coming and we can reschedule.

Telehealth Podiatry for people in isolation:

Picture
We are offering Telehealth services to those in self isolation.

These phone calls/video calls allow us to check up on you whilst you remain at home. If you have any problems we can offer advice over the pnone and if needed we can arrange podiatry supplies to be dropped off to your home. These calls will be bulk billed to all clients currently on a GP Medicare Care Plan.

Home Visits

Where necessary, home visits may need to be arranged at this time to keep those most vunerable safe whilst requiring essential podiatry services.

The flowing precautions have been put in place for your protection:

  • Gloves and masks will be worn by all podiatrists and applied before they arrive to your property and kept on until until they leave.
  • Surgical scrubs (medical clothing) will be single use per home visit
  • Podiatirst will bring their own equipment and hand gel
  • Single use homevisits kits will be used for each client in a disposable pack.
  • Visits can be conducted outside (weather permitting)
