Foot problems commonly experienced in sport:

Heel Pain - There are many causes of heel pain with the most common being plantar fasciosis; the result of chronic plantar fasciitis. Although faulty foot structure is the most common cause of plantar fasciitis, it can also result from wearing shoes that are worn out or not designed for the sport in which you’re participating. Other causes of heel pain include stress fractures, severs disease, tarsal tunnel syndrome and fat pad impingement to name a few. Ankle Sprains - Participating in sports activities is one of the most common ways to sprained ankle. But even day-to-day activities such as walking on an uneven surface or slipping on the sidewalk can produce the a painful stretching or tearing of the ankle ligaments. If an old sprain wasn’t completely rehabilitated, the ankle may repeatedly get sprained, resulting in chronic ankle instability.

Achilles tendonitis - This is a painful and often debilitating inflammation of the tendon that often progresses into degeneration called Achilles tendonosis. A sudden increase of a repetitive activity, leading to micro-injury of the tendon fibers, can cause these conditions.
